holding off a little bit longer than first thought. details coming up. >>> san jose police are investigating their seventh homicide of the year after a fatal stabbing near a park. the victim was a young man in his teens or early 20s. police found his body just before 4:00 this afternoon. so far no arrests and no word on a motive. >>> an emotional day in an oakland courtroom for a woman whose husband came to the bay area for a job area and was murdered. she was returning to his rental car in july of 2010 when two people approached and demanded money. he told them he had only $17 and he was shot to death. video caught the suspects leaving the scene. today his widow came face-to-face with the accused. >> even though i have to face all this againisti wanted to do this last thing for my husband. so i'm trying my best to do this. >> his widow is headed home to virginia tonight. doesn't know if she will return. the defendant, george huggins, is facing the death penalty. his girlfriend and alleged accomplice is expected to testify against him. >>> a san francisco man will be facing

of the motorcade leading up to santa cruz. they actually got from santa cruz to san jose a little faster than they were expecting to get there, going over 17, very long motorcade. but they all arrived at hp pavillion a little early and we saw some pictures of everyone essentially hanging out until they opened the doomplets but just thousands of people on the floors. a pavillion that can hold 18,000, 20,000 people for a sharks game, it is absolutely packed with police officers, with firefighters, and the first level, a two-level arena, the first level is also pretty much packed. but robert handa was telling us earlier the second level is empty. but, you know, that's probably, maybe 10,000 people are so inside hp pavillion, which is exactly why they moved it to hp pavillion, because the arena down in santa cruz only holds about 4000. >> but that arena there, as we can see on the smaller right- hand side of the screen is being used so people can watch a live stream of today's memorial service. there are people seated there on the ground, also in the stands. and so certainly that is one place whe

. of course, we all are interested in creating a high-speed rail project that would connect san jose to san francisco as part of the statewide high-speed rail system. it is an important project where i'm very excited that california will become the first state to actually start construction potentially this year on this. so, just to compare ideas here and where we are in this, currently the high-speed rail authority is proposing to electrify caltrain, of course, to build a temporary $250 million station at fourth and king, and with electrification it would not yet go to the transbay terminal. that requires, of course, the dtx or downtown extension. what we have looked in talking to caltrain about is to combine the electrification and downtown extension. we think it's important we get to it sooner rather than later. [speaker not understood] implemented more quickly, there could be more environmentally friendly project and we think could be delivered as a public private partnership. i always have a hard time getting that out. caltrain, of course, electrification of caltrain is a way of getti
